Getting Started

Vespera is a Catholic spiritual companion app for iOS and Android. It delivers personalised daily reflections, prayers, and devotional content across eight spiritual categories — from Morning Prayer and Evening Vespers to Gospel Insights and Eucharistic Devotion. The app is built to support your faith journey with depth, beauty, and simplicity.

Vespera is available on the Apple App Store (iPhone and iPad) and the Google Play Store (Android devices). Search for “Vespera” or visit vespera.oakdev.app for direct links.

Vespera is a paid app. Every purchase includes 150 Reflections to get started. Additional Reflections can be purchased as top-ups within the app, and the Blessed tier adds 300 extra Reflections plus exclusive content. There are no advertisements of any kind in Vespera, ever.

Vespera is rooted in the Roman Rite of the Catholic Church. Our content draws on Sacred Scripture (using publicly available translations), the Roman Calendar (saints’ feast days, liturgical seasons), and classical Catholic devotional tradition. We aim for content that is consistent with the Catechism of the Catholic Church and magisterial teaching.

Reflections System

Reflections are the in-app units used to access spiritual content categories. Each time you tap a category to receive content, one (1) Reflection is deducted from your balance. They are not real money and have no cash value — they are simply a way of pacing your spiritual content engagement.

Each category visit consumes one Reflection. If your balance is empty, you can purchase additional Reflections as top-ups via in-app purchase, or purchase the Blessed tier which adds 300 Reflections to your balance. Reflections are consumed at the point of category access, regardless of how much time you spend reading the content.

Purchased Reflections do not expire while your account is active. Promotional or complimentary Reflections (e.g. the welcome allocation) may have an expiry date, which will be displayed in the app when they are issued.

All purchases are processed by Apple or Google through their respective stores. Refund requests must be directed to them directly. For Apple, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. Blessed Tier

Blessed is Vespera’s optional upgrade tier. It adds 300 Reflections to your account, plus exclusive prayer collections and devotional content, access to advanced spiritual categories, and priority access to new content as it is released. It is designed for those who want to go deeper in their faith journey with Vespera.

Cancel directly through your Platform Store. OakDev cannot cancel it on your behalf.

iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Vespera Blessed → Cancel Subscription.

Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Vespera → Cancel.

You retain Blessed access until the end of your current billing period after cancelling.

No. Once you cancel in your Platform Store, your subscription will not auto-renew. You will keep Blessed access until the end of the current paid period, and no further charges will be made. Allow up to 24 hours for cancellation to take effect in the app.

First, try signing out of the app and signing back in to refresh your subscription status. If the problem persists, go to the app’s Settings and look for a Restore Purchases option. If it still doesn’t resolve, please contact us at hello@oakdev.app with your registered email address and we will investigate.

Account & Data

You can delete your account directly in the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account, then confirm. Alternatively, email us at hello@oakdev.app with the subject “Account Deletion Request”. Full details are on our Delete Account page.

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service: account credentials, content access history, Reflections balance, preferences, and device identifiers for push notifications. We do not sell your data, display ads, or share your data with advertisers. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Email us at hello@oakdev.app with the subject “Data Access Request” and include the email address linked to your account. We will provide a copy of your personal data in a portable format within 30 days, free of charge, as required by GDPR Article 20.

On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email address. We will send a password reset link to your registered email. If you do not receive it within a few minutes, check your spam folder. If you still have trouble, contact us at hello@oakdev.app.

Technical Issues

Try these steps in order: 1) Force-close and reopen the app. 2) Check your internet connection. 3) Restart your device. 4) Check the App Store / Google Play for a pending update and install it. 5) If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the app (your account data is saved to the cloud). If none of these work, please contact us at hello@oakdev.app with your device model and OS version.

First, check that notifications are enabled for Vespera in your device settings: iOS: Settings → Vespera → Notifications. Android: Settings → Apps → Vespera → Notifications. Also check that Do Not Disturb is not active. If notifications are enabled but still not arriving, sign out and back into the app to refresh your push token.

We genuinely appreciate bug reports — they help us make Vespera better for everyone. Please email hello@oakdev.app or use the contact form on this page. Include: what happened, what you expected, the steps to reproduce the bug, your device model (e.g. iPhone 15), and your OS version (e.g. iOS 17.4). Screenshots or screen recordings are extremely helpful.

We take theological accuracy seriously. If you believe a piece of content is incorrect, inconsistent with Catholic teaching, or otherwise problematic, please email us at hello@oakdev.app with the category name, the specific content in question, and your concern. We will review it promptly. Please note that some content is AI-assisted; while we review it carefully, errors can occasionally occur.
